This Choose your own Adventure European trip would end up being made up as we went along, figuring out our next stop based on whether or not we got a pet sitting job etc. We stopped in Freiburg to see my friend Indra because of last minute face book messages back and forth. To see what Dean had to say about this leg of the trip please visit his web blog here:
I met Indra when I was living in France.

We did some serious bonding when she took a spill on her bike after 2 dogs ran out in front of her and she broke her elbow. Yikes!
One year later, after she had recovered, she drove from Germany all the way down to the south of France and visited me again…
…and then again when I lived in Belgium! To read about my adventures in Belgium (some of them anyway, I’m still debating whether or not to write a book about What happened in Belgium!) you can scroll back on this blog or visit my blog here: My Belgium blog
I was super excited that at the last minute I was going to get to visit Indra in her natural habitat, I mean country! Freiburg is a beautiful eco city located right on the edge of Black Forest. YES! Unfortunately we did not get a chance to hike there.
Black forest cake!!

Founded in the 1100’s the little city is quite a mix of old and new. I loved it here!
Dean, where did you get that baby?! haha
Travel is also about the food! A typical breakfast:
Here is a typical dish (yummy) we had at the local pub (it’s not just about the beer!)
And this is how you dry your clothes when you are in Europe:
In the….. natural AIR? I know. It’s barbaric, right?!
But the best part of traveling for me is not PLACES but PEOPLE!
Thanks so much Dean for taking me to visit my Indra!
You rock!!
